Creating a blueprint from a SketchUp model using Condoc Tools involves several key steps. Condoc Tools is a plugin designed for SketchUp that allows for efficient construction document production. Here’s a guide to the general process:

1. Export the job to a Condoc_ SketchUp Model

  • Contact sales@keymark.com to add this feature to your account. 

2. Install and Configure Condoc Tools

  • Install Condoc Tools for SketchUp and activate it. You may need to get a license or trial version.
  • Open the Condoc System in SketchUp, which provides predefined layer, style, and scene configurations. The tool organizes layers and scenes automatically according to its templates.

3. Review Condoc’s Layering System

  • Condoc provides a “Condoc System” which includes a predefined layer/tag structure (e.g., ‘Walls – Interior’, ‘Doors’, ‘Windows’).
  • Smartbuild follows Condoc's lead and applies each model element to its corresponding Condoc layer/tag. This system helps Condoc automatically generate scenes and construction documents.

4. Generate Condoc Scenes

  • Use Condoc Tools to generate construction scenes. Condoc can create plans, sections, and elevations by applying its predefined styles to your model.
  • Run the Condoc “Plan Generator” or “Elevation Generator” (depending on what you need). This feature will create the scenes necessary for your blueprint with correct line weights and visibility settings for each layer/tag.
  • Condoc Tools will also create layers for different line weights to ensure that each scene follows a blueprint-style format.

5. Export Scenes to Layout

  • Open SketchUp Layout (a companion app for SketchUp Pro used for creating 2D presentations).
  • Send your Condoc-generated scenes to Layout by using the “Send to Layout” feature. Condoc scenes will appear as individual viewports in Layout.
  • Arrange the viewports in Layout according to your blueprint or sheet format.

6. Annotate and Finalize in Layout

  • Add annotations, dimensions, labels, and titles in Layout to make the document blueprint-ready.
  • Apply Condoc’s preset styles for annotations, or customize them to fit your needs.

7. Export to PDF

  • Once your Layout document is complete, export it as a PDF or print it directly from Layout.
  • The result will be a polished blueprint-ready document created from your SketchUp model.

  • Scene Organization: Naming scenes clearly helps when arranging and adjusting views in Layout.
